Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, generating strong winds topping over 100 km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 residents in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled 598 calls for help across the region, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing suburb - various rescue reports
- Wyndham region - 179 calls for assistance
At one point on yesterday, over 28k power users in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along significant areas of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across various areas of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
