The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their status as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
